Privacy policy

Introduction

This privacy policy describes how Earth India Commercial (trading as Epsilon) (“we”, “our”, “us”) collects, uses, shares, protects and otherwise processes your personal data through our website https://epsilonbag.com (the “Platform”). You can browse parts of the Platform without registering. We do not offer any product or service outside India, and your personal data is stored and processed in India. By visiting the Platform, providing your information or buying from us, you agree to this policy, our terms & conditions and the laws of India, including the Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

Collection

We collect personal data when you use the Platform or otherwise interact with us. This includes:

• Account details: name, email address, mobile number and a hashed password (we never store your password in readable form). If you sign in with Google we receive your name, email address and profile picture from Google.
• Order details: delivery addresses, items purchased, payment method and payment status. Card, UPI and bank details for online payments are handled entirely by Razorpay and never reach our servers.
• Refund details: for Cash on Delivery refunds, the bank account or UPI details you give us to transfer the money.
• Return details: the reason for a return and any photos you upload.
• Technical data: IP address, browser type and pages visited, kept in server logs for security and troubleshooting.

You can always choose not to provide information by not using a particular feature. If you receive an email or call from anyone claiming to be Earth India Commercial and asking for your card PIN, net-banking or mobile-banking password or OTP, never share it — we will never ask for it. If you have already shared such information, report it immediately to the appropriate law enforcement agency.

Usage

We use personal data to provide the Services you request: to create and secure your account and verify your email address; to process, deliver and support your orders, returns and refunds; to resolve disputes and troubleshoot problems; to send transactional messages (order confirmation, shipping updates, password resets); to detect and protect against error, fraud and other criminal activity; to enforce our terms; and to meet legal and tax obligations. Marketing emails are sent only after you confirm your subscription, and you can unsubscribe at any time.

Sharing

We share personal data only with service providers needed to run the store: Razorpay (payments), our courier and logistics partners (delivery and return pickups), our email provider (transactional email), Google (if you choose Google sign-in) and our hosting provider. We do not sell personal data. We may disclose personal data to government or law enforcement agencies where required by law, or in the good-faith belief that disclosure is reasonably necessary to respond to legal process, enforce our terms or this policy, respond to claims that content violates the rights of a third party, or protect the rights, property or safety of our users or the public.

Security precautions

We adopt reasonable security practices to protect your personal data from unauthorised access, disclosure, loss or misuse, including encrypted (HTTPS) connections, hashed passwords and restricted access to our systems. However, no transmission over the internet is completely secure, and by using the Platform you accept the inherent risks of data transmission over the internet. You are responsible for keeping your login details confidential.

Data deletion and retention

You may ask us to delete your account and personal data by writing to support@epsilonbag.com; deleting your account means losing access to it and its order history. We may refuse or delay deletion while a grievance, claim, shipment, return or refund is pending. Order and invoice records are retained for as long as Indian tax law requires; where we must keep such records we will close your account and restrict processing instead of deleting them. Server logs are kept for up to 30 days. We may retain data in anonymised form for analysis.

Your rights

You may access, correct and update your personal data from your account pages, or by writing to support@epsilonbag.com. We respond to requests within 30 days.

Consent

By visiting the Platform or providing your information, you consent to the collection, use, storage, disclosure and processing of your information as described in this policy. If you give us personal data about another person (for example a delivery recipient), you confirm that you have their permission. You consent to us contacting you by email, SMS or phone about your orders. You may withdraw your consent by writing to the Grievance Officer below with the subject line “Withdrawal of consent for processing personal data”. We may verify such requests before acting on them. Withdrawal is not retrospective, and we may be unable to provide Services that depend on the information.

Cookies

We use one strictly necessary cookie to keep you signed in, and one anonymous cookie (a random identifier) that lets us count how many people visit each page and on which kind of device. That count is kept on our own servers, is never shared with third parties, contains no name or email, stores your IP address only in irreversibly hashed form, and is deleted after 90 days. We do not use advertising cookies or third-party analytics.

Changes to this privacy policy

Please check this policy periodically. We may update it to reflect changes to our practices, and we will notify you of significant changes as required by law.
